The refund policy in ordinary language

This page describes how you can cancel a Subscription, when you can request a refund, and how long the Workspace remains readable after you leave. It supplements — it does not replace — your statutory right of withdrawal under §355 BGB.

1 — Overview

HuntingtonMod GmbH sells small monthly personal-utility software Subscriptions from a Munich office. Because the offering is monthly, the amounts involved are small (between EUR 3.90 and EUR 14.90 per App), and because the Workspace is essentially a personal notebook, we keep the refund logic straightforward. This page describes the three refund tracks — statutory withdrawal, voluntary pro-rata, and goodwill — as well as the sixty-day Workspace grace period that runs in parallel. HuntingtonMod is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to Huntington Bancshares Incorporated, Huntington National Bank, or Huntington Investment Company; refund requests concerning US bank accounts cannot be handled here.

2 — Statutory right of withdrawal (14 days)

As a consumer resident in the European Union or a country with an equivalent regime, you have a right of withdrawal under §355 BGB and Directive 2011/83/EU. You may exercise it within fourteen (14) calendar days of opening the Workspace, without giving any reason and without any penalty. To exercise the right, send an unambiguous statement to support@huntingtonmod.org — an e-mail with the subject "Right of withdrawal" and the invoice reference number is sufficient. You may also use the model withdrawal form appended to the German Bürgerliches Gesetzbuch.

3 — Effect of statutory withdrawal

Because the first calendar month is included on every Subscription, an exercise of the statutory right of withdrawal within the first fourteen days normally results in zero repayment (nothing has been charged), and the Workspace is closed at the end of the fourteenth day. If a first invoice has already been paid — which is rare, and only happens if you have prepaid manually — the amount is returned in full by SEPA transfer to the payer account within ten (10) working days of the withdrawal notice.

4 — Voluntary pro-rata refund (30 days)

Beyond the statutory right of withdrawal, HuntingtonMod offers a voluntary thirty (30) day pro-rata refund on the current calendar month. If you cancel any App between day fifteen and day thirty of a paid calendar month, we refund the unused fraction of that month, rounded up to the nearest day. Example: cancel a EUR 9.90 App on day twenty of a thirty-day calendar month, receive EUR 3.30 by SEPA credit transfer within ten (10) working days.

5 — Voluntary goodwill refund

Even after day thirty, we occasionally offer goodwill refunds — for example, if a Subscriber has been away from the notebook for the entire month for medical reasons and asks us in good faith. Goodwill refunds are decided by a human in Munich, not by an algorithm, and are granted on the merits of each case. Please write to support@huntingtonmod.org with a brief explanation and the invoice reference number.

6 — Cancellation flow — the one-click path

To cancel any App at any time, sign into your Workspace, open Settings → Subscriptions, click Cancel next to the App you no longer want, confirm the choice, and close the tab. The change is effective immediately: the App is marked as cancelled, no further invoice is issued, and the Workspace enters its grace period for that App. No reason is required. No retention call is placed. No follow-up e-mail is sent asking why.

7 — Cancellation by e-mail

If you prefer not to sign in, you may cancel by writing to support@huntingtonmod.org from the e-mail address on file, mentioning the invoice reference number and the App(s) you wish to cancel. The Munich support team processes such requests within one (1) working day and confirms the cancellation by return e-mail.

8 — Workspace grace period (60 days)

After cancellation, the Workspace enters a sixty (60) day grace period. During this time, every App remains readable and exportable — you can download your journal entries as Markdown, your expenses as CSV, your receipts as a single PDF, your weekly reviews as printable A5 sheets. No new entries can be created, but everything you already have remains available. If you change your mind during the grace period, a single "Reactivate" click restores the Subscription at the previous price.

9 — Archive period (60 further days) and permanent deletion

At the end of the grace period, the Workspace is archived in cold storage for a further sixty (60) days. In archive, the Workspace can still be restored by writing to support — restoration takes approximately one working day and reactivates the Subscription. At the end of the archive period, the Workspace is permanently deleted, the storage bucket is overwritten, and a final receipt is sent by e-mail. After deletion, no restoration is possible.

10 — Refund method and timing

All refunds are paid by SEPA credit transfer to the account that originated the corresponding SEPA credit transfer to us. We do not refund to a different account for anti-fraud reasons. The wire is initiated within ten (10) working days of a valid refund request and typically arrives within one further working day. The Munich bank charges nothing for refunds; no processing fee is deducted from the amount.

11 — Non-refundable situations

The following situations do not qualify for a refund: (a) accidental duplicate SEPA transfers made by the Subscriber outside our request — please write and we return the excess; (b) Subscriptions terminated for cause under section 12 of the Terms of Service due to serious breach of the Acceptable Use Policy; (c) charges from your own bank for SEPA transfers we did not request. Nothing here limits your statutory rights as a consumer.

12 — Chargebacks and SEPA reversals

Because we do not use credit cards, there is no card-network chargeback route. SEPA credit transfers cannot be reversed unilaterally by the payer. If you believe a SEPA transfer to us was erroneous, please write to support@huntingtonmod.org with the transfer date, amount and reference; we return the funds within ten (10) working days once the transfer is verified.

13 — Disputes and internal escalation

If you disagree with the outcome of a refund request, please reply to the support e-mail with the phrase "Escalate to management". The request is then reviewed by the managing director Andrea Weiss, who responds personally within five (5) working days. Roughly one in six escalations changes the initial outcome.

14 — European online dispute resolution

The European Commission provides an online dispute-resolution platform at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr/. HuntingtonMod is not currently obliged to participate and does not commit to participating in dispute-resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board, but we always try to resolve refund disputes by e-mail first and, in practice, will engage with the ODR platform in good faith if you file a request there.

15 — Jurisdiction

Refund disputes are governed by German law. Consumers may sue in the court of their habitual residence; merchants under §14 BGB in Munich. Nothing in this policy affects the mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence.

16 — Recap and non-affiliation

Cancel from your Workspace or by e-mail; first fourteen days are free by statutory withdrawal; days fifteen to thirty by voluntary pro-rata; sixty days of grace, then sixty days of archive, then permanent deletion. If in doubt, write to support@huntingtonmod.org. HuntingtonMod is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to Huntington Bancshares Incorporated, Huntington National Bank, or Huntington Investment Company; requests concerning US bank refunds must be addressed to your actual bank.
